Carrera is created with white frit over clear glass. The glassblower rolls his glob of molten glass in small bits of colored glass, called frit. The extremely hot glass melts the frit, creating irregular patterns and multi-colored surfaces. The pattern is never the same twice, becoming even more varied as the glass is blown into shape.
The final glass product is etched or sandblasted to a matte finish, turning the clear glass to a frosted translucent.
